Alan A. Lowe DMD, Cert.Orth, PhD, FRCD(C), FACD

Alan Lowe graduated with a DMD from The University of British Columbia in Vancouver and completed a Diploma in Orthodontics and a PhD at the University of Toronto. He is currently Professor and Chair, Division of Orthodontics in the Department of Oral Health Sciences in Vancouver and has maintained a private orthodontic specialty practice in Vancouver for 35 years. Dr. Lowe has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally in the areas of neurophysiology and orthodontics with a particular emphasis on the etiology and treatment of snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea. He has published over 120 papers, 150 abstracts and 15 book chapters and has successfully filed Canadian, U.S. and international patents for three inventions. He was a founding member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and has served for many years as a member of their Board of Directors. He has been the recipient of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine Pierre Robin Academic Award, the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia Distinguished Service Award and the German Society of Dental Sleep Medicine Meirer-Ewert Award for Career Achievement.
