Dr. Swain is the founder, owner and director of the Swain Center, a clinic for speech, language and learning disorders and research, and The Listening Center, both located in California. She is the former chief of speech-language pathology at the University of California-Davis Medical Center and held a clinical staff faculty appointment to the School of Medicine. She is in private practice and was recently appointed to the California Speech-Language Hearing Associations (CSHA) task force for developing evaluation and treatment guidelines for auditory processing disorder, as well as the CSHA Encroachment Task Force.
