Dr. Axel Bumann is a dual-trained specialist in oral surgery and orthodontics. He did his MSc thesis in histology and his PhD thesis in cell biology. Dr. Bumann is one of the pioneers in the field of skeletal orthodontic anchorage. In 1999 he invented the so-called "tomas pin". Currently, Dr. Bumann maintains two orthodontic offices in Berlin. In addition, he is the president of the largest CBCT network in Germany and international speaker on various topics like anchorage pins, TMJ diagnosis and treatment in orthodontics as well as CBCT in orthodontics.
