Dr. Hathaway is the founder and Medical Director of the Craniofacial Center and its programs at the Peyton Manning Children's Hospital located in Indianapolis, Indiana. He currently serves as Treasurer and Executive Board Member of the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, as well as the Cleft Palate Foundation. He is a research investigator involved in Americleft, a North American cohort study of long term outcomes in cleft palate treatment. His teaching career includes courses given in craniofacial growth and development to over 2000 dental and medical students. He taught treatment planning for orthognathic surgery to residents in plastic surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery and orthodontics for approximately two decades and has mentored 17 post-residency craniofacial fellowship doctors.
